New Orleans: Louisiana

Weto drive 9 hours through our third lightning storm to NOLA. We made it around 11:30pm to the one Walmart that was 24 hours and it was too ghetto so we drove downtown to see if we could stay in the Harrahs parking lot because I read that we could if we gambled for 30 mins we could park there. We could not figure out how to park there at all so we called a hotel to try and stay the night--they were booked. We were tired cranky and frustrated at this point. We did find another Walmart 20 mins away that was not 24hrs and it was super small but we slept there and no one kicked us out so that was good at least. Still ghetto but not as bad. We woke up early and had breakfast at "The Grill. "

Really nice people working there. Got amazing omelettes. Chris said the special with chilli was the best he's ever had.

After breakfast we walked around town to explore all the amazing culture this town had to offer. We ran into tons of live music, beautiful artwork, delicious beignets, and gorgeous weather. It was a Saturday however so the famous Cafe Du Monde was not possible. Their line was outrageous.

We did though get the second best beignets at "Cafe Beignet" and we were not disappointed.

Walked around more and decided to head out. Next stop Austin tx! We stopped for the night at a rest stop outside Houston. Raccoons and armadillos wandering around everywhere. Comfortable night.
